Experience overview

Rob has first-hand experience with the application of Saudi Arabian competition law at the highest level. From August 2023 to September 2026, he served as the internal competition consultant at the General Authority for Competition (GAC) in Riyadh - the only foreign advisor in this role. He advised the CEO directly, drafted opinion papers on competition policy, and provided economic analysis on the authority's most significant matters. He is one of a very small number of independent economists outside Saudi Arabia with genuine operational knowledge of how the GAC applies its competition framework.
