Channel Islands and UK competition law
Rob has deep, long-standing expertise in the competition law of Jersey, Guernsey, and the UK. From April 2006 to July 2011, he was the single senior case officer responsible for enforcement of Jersey competition law at the Jersey Competition and Regulatory Authority (JCRA) - with responsibility for both the assessment of merger notifications and investigations (of potential abuses of a dominant position, anti-competitive agreements or a failure to notify). He subsequently served as Channel Islands country correspondent for the European Competition Law Review (from 2012 to 2021), covering legal developments in Jersey and Guernsey in depth. On the UK side, Rob has provided economic analysis for merger notifications in the UK and served as an ICN non-governmental advisor to the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for many years, contributing to the CMA's representation at ICN workshops.
