EU and Member States' competition law
Rob has extensive experience with the application of EU competition law and the national competition laws of EU Member States - from every perspective. As a senior economist at the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM, then NMa), he enforced competition law at the national level, leading major market investigations and developing the economic analysis for leniency applications in the Dutch construction cartel. As an advisor at EY in London, he worked with law firms on the economic aspects of EU filings and investigations. As in-house competition expert at Achmea (a Fortune Global 500 company), he applied EU and Member States' competition laws from the corporate perspective. As an independent consultant, he has continued to advise law firms and companies on EU and national competition matters across multiple jurisdictions.
